Meet Dave Sweet
My journey in the cleaning and restoration industry began in 1990 with a single cleaning truck and a determination to create a better life for my family. In 1995, I expanded into water damage restoration with the guidance of Bob Bonwell from Advantage Marketing. Bob introduced me to another driven professional, and together, we took on larger restoration projects. This partnership showed me the potential for growth in combining cleaning with restoration services. Initially, I tackled these jobs with minimal training, learning through experience.
My perspective shifted significantly when I met Chuck Dewald, an industry pioneer, at his first drying school in Morristown, Tennessee. Those three days in 1999 opened my eyes to the science and tools needed for effective restoration. The training was transformative, and I remember telling my team afterward that I felt the need to apologize to past clients, realizing our previous methods might not have fully dried their buildings. From that point on, I made it a priority to send each team member to Chuck’s drying academy, ensuring our company would be highly skilled in structural drying. Over the years, my relationship with the Dewald family has blossomed into valued friendships and business partnerships.
In 2015, I invested in a new facility with the original intent of using it to train our staff and educate our clients. But as we expanded, I realized new technicians, though certified, often lacked the hands-on skills needed to excel in the field. This inspired me to broaden the facility’s purpose, transforming it into a training school focused on producing knowledgeable, capable technicians—not just certificate-holders.
The cleaning and restoration industry has been incredibly rewarding. I am blessed with an exceptional team, and our faith in God guides everything we do. We see ourselves as the hands and feet of Christ, serving our clients with a deep sense of responsibility. After 26 years, I recognize there are fewer years ahead than behind, and my passion now is to prepare the next generation of restorers. My goal is to leave this industry better than I found it, passing on knowledge and values that will shape a brighter future for all who follow.
